Born in London to an American father (from Boston) and a Milanese mother, he grew up in Varese and took his first steps in hockey in the Mastini youth system. In 2009 he left Italy after receiving the call in the fifth round as 137th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets, becoming the first Italian-developed player to be selected in the NHL Draft. He never made his debut in the NHL and since 2017 has played in Germany, first wearing the colours of Adler Mannheim (with whom he also won a title) and then, from 2023, the Schwenninger Wild Wings. A defenceman, he has played three Top Division World Championships with Italy. In May 2025 he was part of the squad at the Division I Group A World Championships, where Italy, with his teammates, returned to the top tier after three years. One day he hopes to settle in Italy with his family. In the meantime, he returns as a player—captaining Italy at the Milano Cortina Olympic Games.
