The Cortina Sliding Centre, located in Cortina d’Ampezzo, is a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility dedicated to bobsleigh, skeleton, and luge. Built in an area with a long-standing tradition in sliding sports—dating back to 1923—the new track stands where the original piste hosted the 1956 Winter Olympic Games.

It was on that track that local hero Eugenio Monti, later known as “The Flying Redhead,” claimed two silver medals, before going on to win two golds and two bronzes at Innsbruck 1964 and Grenoble 1968. The redevelopment of this historic venue aims to carry forward Cortina’s legacy in sliding sports, blending tradition with cutting-edge design.

The track received official certification in March 2025, securing its place on the world stage for Milano Cortina 2026.
