Address: Cortina d’Ampezzo (BL)
How to Get There:
Set in the heart of the Dolomites, the Tofane Alpine Skiing Centre in Cortina d’Ampezzo will host the women’s alpine skiing events at Milano Cortina 2026. The venue already has a proud Olympic history, having staged all alpine skiing competitions during the 1956 Winter Games.
The course winds along the slopes of the Tofana di Mezzo, forming one of the most iconic tracks on the FIS Women’s World Cup circuit. The downhill starts at Rifugio Pomedes, while the Super-G begins from Rifugio Duca d’Aosta. Both finish lines are located just a short distance from the centre of Cortina.
Since 1993, Cortina has been a regular World Cup stop, hosting both downhill and Super-G events each season. The venue has also welcomed men’s World Cup races on three occasions—1969, 1990, and 2023—with a total of five events held across downhill and Super-G. In 2021, the Tofane slopes were the stage for the 46th Alpine World Ski Championships.
Italy’s most successful skier on these storied slopes is Isolde Kostner, with five career victories, while Lindsey Vonn of the United States holds the overall record with 12 wins.
