Biography

The spark was lit in 2005, when he went to Turin’s PalaVela as a fan and had the good fortune to witness a victory by Fabio Carta, an Italian short track icon. He started skating at eight thanks to his brother, but that day stayed in his heart, pushing him to turn his passion into a profession.

His most significant competitive satisfactions have come with the relays, through which he has collected two Olympic medals, three world medals and three European medals. He owes a great deal to his family, who have always supported him, and he enjoys spending free time with friends or playing video games. A big rap music fan, he relaxes by searching for new bands to listen to. He also enjoys playing basketball and, commitments on ice allowing, never misses an NBA game. A graduate of an art high school, he loves drawing too, giving voice to his creativity. Awaiting him at Milano Cortina is the second chapter of his Olympic story.
