Renowned for its breathtaking spectacle, ski jumping at Milano Cortina 2026 will take place at the Predazzo Ski Jumping Stadium, nestled in the Val di Fiemme. The discipline made its Olympic debut at Chamonix 1924 with the men’s large hill event. Over the years, additional men's events were added: the normal hill in Innsbruck 1964, and the team event in Calgary 1988 - now set to be replaced in the Dolomites by a new “super team” format.
Women's ski jumping entered the Olympic stage with the normal hill at Sochi 2014, followed by the mixed team event at Beijing 2022. The Italian edition of the Games will mark another milestone: the introduction of the women’s large hill event.
Italy has yet to win a medal in Olympic ski jumping. The nation’s best performances remain Ivan Lunardi’s seventh-place finish on the large hill at Albertville 1992, and the eighth-place result in the men’s former team event at Lillehammer 1994, achieved by Ivo Pertile, Andrea Cecon, Roberto Cecon, and Lunardi.
