Curling made its Olympic debut at Chamonix 1924 with a men’s competition only. After appearing as a demonstration sport at Lake Placid 1932, Calgary 1988 and Albertville 1992, it was officially reinstated into the Olympic programme at Nagano 1998, this time with both men's and women's events. The mixed doubles discipline was later introduced at PyeongChang 2018.
Italy’s first - and so far only - Olympic curling medal came in that very mixed doubles format. Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner captured historic gold at Beijing 2022, defeating Norway 8–5 in the final to secure a landmark victory for the Italian duo.
All three curling competitions at the 2026 Winter Games will be held at the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium in Cortina d’Ampezzo.
